Somewhere near Yongen
For some odd reason, there is pool just a bit away from Yongen-Jaya. There, a green haired girl with a snake tail sits at the edge of the pool.
*A Lavender-haired stranger walks by and decides to sit at the other end of the pool, looking into its waters. Soon he takes out a notepad and begins to write something*
The snake girl notices the stranger on the other side, getting nervous. "U-Uh... Hello..." She speaks in a quiet voice. The girl gets too nervous and jumps into the pool, creating a small splash.
*The stranger looks up at the sound of the snake girl's voice and chuckles as she ends up in the pool* Now now, calm down. I haven't bitten anyone yet and I certainly don't intend to start. In fact I'd hardly noticed you. Its almost like you're trying to hide.
The snake girl swims underwater to the other side, surfacing next to the stranger. "S-Sorry, I'm really s-shy..."
*The stranger chuckles and attempts to pat the girl on the head* Its alright kid. No reason to be ashamed of yourself. In fact, can I tell you a little secret?
The stranger can feel the wetness of the girl's hair. She's still dripping wet from being underwater. "Go ahead, mister." The snake girl bites her tail, not too hard to harm herself.
*The stranger sighs and looks across the pond* A few years ago, back home, I was a shy one too. Hardly ever spoke to anyone..... In fact, I'm still a bit hesitant at times. But eventually I learned to work around it. *The stranger looks at the snake-girl and smiles* So even if you don't become more confident, I'm sure that you'll get less nervous around people some day.
*the Knight appears from the wind itself, his ashes forming his physique. Noticing the caring mood, the Knight takes the situation delicately and inspects the scene*
The girl smiles back at the stranger. "T-Thank you... I'm Jormugand, by the way..." Jormugand dives back into the pool, surfacing in the middle.
*The stranger smiles at Jormungand, and takes off his shoes in order to dip his feet in the pool's waters* You can call me Gamma. At least, that's what I ask to be called. *shrug* Most people make up some nickname or another. Not that I mind of course.
*The Knight cautiously walks toward the pond, and kneels respectfully* Forgive me for intruding sir gamma, and lady jormugand, but if I may....would you permit me to ask your origin, lady jormugand?
"Gamma's a nice name." Jormugand swims around, ending up at the other side of the pool. She takes notice of Elite Knight, shyly waving. "H-Hello there.."
"M-My origin? What do you mean by that?" She swims a little closer to Elite Knight carefully.
Oh my, I truly have forgotten my manners. Hello, my lady. I am a Knight of Astora, and my name....has been long forgotten. I apologise for being so forward. *The Knight takes a courteous and flamboyant bow. He'd make a lot of friends in 1386 A.D*
*Gamma attempts to hide a chuckle as he watches the other two speak. He opens his mouth for a moment, as though he intended to speak, but quickly shuts it and watches instead.*
Saeko had been walking past, after exploring some small places of Yongen. Hearing the Knight speak, she walked towards the gathering with a smirk. "Oh?" She spoke in a slightly amused tone. "I suppose I am not the only one who seems so... Out of their element after all."
Yes, your origin. As in where you hail from, I am....looking for someone. And I need to know the lands this Nexus is connected to.
@Saeko Ah, hello there. Suprising, finding this many maidens in such a short span. I am a knight of Astora, my name has been forgotten.....greeting, milady. *The Knight demonstrates another flamboyant bow*
"I come from the deep sea... N-Not that special.." Jormungand slowly hides from the knight, dropping into the water with a small splash.
@Jormungand *The Knight is puzzled, then catches on, and proceeds to put on a comforting voice.* The deep sea? I would say that's rather special, I've never met anyone who hails from somewhere so lovely....
Jormungand surfaces to reply to the Knight. "I'm m-mostly alone, and I don't f-find it lovely either..."
She scratches the back of her neck, the amused expression not fading for even a moment. "I cannot say I have ever been greeted with such... Flair, shall we say." She sighs a bit. "The name is Saeko Murakami." "A name forgotten, huh? Would that not make addressing you difficult?" She whispered to herself, "Though... I think I can understand a bit."
*Gamma makes a show of shrugging, both arms out to the side* What's in a name anyways? All that really matters is that people associate it with you. In fact, if you wanted we could make you one up right now Knight. *chuckle* How do you like OMega? Its kinda lame of course, but I find it to be a neat system
She glances between the Knight and the girl in the water, a bit confused, before leaving towards the girl and asking her something quietly, seeming a bit embarrassed. "I hate to always be asking questions, but you said you are from the 'Deep Sea'? What is exactly... Is this 'Deep Sea'?"
(A young man donning a blue cloak with a hood leans against a nearby tree. His face obscured by the hood, he'd smile at the efforts being made to assist the girl. For the time being he'd just wait in hiding.)
"T-The deep sea? It's a small a-area in the ocean, no h-humans can get to it..." Jorumungand bites her tail a small bit harder, nervous by everyone.
*Malloryn seemingly passes by, planning to walk home. As she saw the pool assumingly out of place, she decides to check it out and sees the group. After all, when you see a pool you've never seen before because you know how Yongen is, the most logical thing to do is investigate.* "I wonder why everyone with such important roles are coming here. I do know people have to relax, I just didn't know here would be a valid place for you all. By the by, I never knew a new pool was built here. Guess I should look more around Yongen more." he said to everyone, seemingly just coming from the shadows. His voice was rather deep but still feminine, considering she's only 16 years old. *Though it looked as if she was nice, and naive, she was just sugarcoating what she was originally going to say with sarcasm. The sarcasm's still hard to detect given how his voice sounds like one that would never lie, but it's faint presence is lurking.* Ooc: Gender pronoun alternations, same person, you get the deal, now I have to take a shower.
*Gamma sighs and shakes his head* You know, we are crowding the kid a bit. Maybe you could give her some room? Can't be comfortable with so much going on at once. Maybe a few of you could back away for the moment, give her time to relax a bit?
Saeko turns and nods at Gamma with a sigh. Standing up straight, she turns and walks a few steps back, scratching the back of her neck. "Ocean?" She said to herself under her breath, feeling her question wasn't really answered.
Jormugand yawns, slowly falling asleep and dropping to the bottom of the pool. Too late for more questions now.
*Gamma shrugs and watches Jormungand drop* Well, that seems a bit sudden. But I guess that's not unusual among children. Even snake-kids need to rest sometime. *Gamma takes out a notepad and begins writing on it again*
*Malloryn turns to Gamma, and then takes only 1 step back because that's the only step needed to be outside. Now she blends in with the atmosphere, as she's now rarely being seen.* "Would this be the optimal distance to give her space then?" she asked Gamma as she turned to Saeko, giving a "genuine smile". "Oh you know, the ocean, where there's fish, and water, and sometimes trash." she replied, answering her question wishing she could finish it with only two words.
After seeing the girl go under the water and not come up she moved closer and looked into the water, and her at the bottom. "S-Should we not help her? She could drown!" Saeko said slightly worried, ignoring the explanation of what an ocean is, given by the character who has no actual reason for being so inconsistent with pronouns.
"Meh, she's a snake girl, she won't drown. Also, 10:00, I'm late for bed, see you all tomorrow!" she walked away, at least not before mumbling the word "trash" before truly leaving the area.
(The young man shakes his head as he finally appears behind the group, his face still obscured by his hood. He'd narrowly avoid bumping into the trap.) Trash? Someone seems a bit moody.
God, I hate your people's world. Ah, what I would give for the magitech of my world. [Hazama makes a dramatic swoon motion, before his attention is drawn to the girl in the water.] My oh my, what have we here? I didn't think beastkin came with snake bits. How intriguing. Anyway, what are you up to here, hm?
*Gamma watches Mal walk off* Well, that was rather sudden. Regardless, apparently the child came from the ocean, I'd imagine they mean the actual, enormous body of water. So I doubt they'll drown.. In fact, she may not be able to stay away. I'm sure you've heard legends of water spirits and such. Something like that may be going on.
OOC: **What are you ALL up to here, he isn't talking to a sleeping snake girl
*Gamma sighs as Jace and Hazama approach* Well, I see we have another newcomer.... And another snake. *Gamma puts away his notepad and stands up* I was just looking for a good place to think when I ran upon the child. Figured there'd be no harm in talking to them. *Gamma looks into the water once again* Seems like they're lost, poor thing. I hope nothing happens to em.
[Hazama smirks as he sits down by the water, removing his hat and placing it beside him on the ground.] Man, that WOULD be a shame now wouldn't it?
"Enormous bodies of water... Those exist in your worlds? I am almost jealous... All I know of is sand and the occasional rivers in the desert." She gazes into the water, it capturing her attention. She is not even aware of the new arrivals.
Ah! (Sensing something is amiss as the green haired man appears, the young man would raise his guard, mentally and physically.) Research, sir. Nothing more. (He'd glare from beneath his hood at the man before turning to the lavender gentleman.) The newcomer has a name... (He'd pull back his hood revealing his face.) My name is Jace Beleren. A pleasure to meet you.
Yes, an ocean is basically an enormous body of undrinkable water. They typically have a large amount of salt which makes them unsuitable for such things. *Gamma sighs and keeps one eye on Hazama as he speaks* You can call me Gamma. At least, that's what I ask of people, seems very few actually listen. You need an introductory speech? *sigh* Seems like its become my job to introduce everyone to this place.
[Hazama leans back, smiling at the now unhooded man.] Come now, do I really look the type to randomly attack someone? Would you believe me if I said I was a pacifist? [Hazama lets loose a not-so-pacifist sounding laugh.] I'm Hazama, by the way. Nice to meet you Mr. Beleren.
"Undrinkable... Oh... Well, I suppose it is not much of a loss for my home then." She turned around, taking her gaze away from the pool, she looked up and seems a bit surprised at the appearance of Hazama and Jace, both she failed to notice as they arrived.
The Nexus right? I believe I've had a fair enough lesson the other day. An amalgamation of worlds or pathway to all worlds? Something to that effect? (He'd smile as he crosses his arms, though it doesn't last long as he turns to Hazama.) I'll cut to the chase Mister Hazama. Yes, you do. But there's more to it than that. A familiar malevolence to something I've dealt with before. (He sighs as his arms return to his sides.) So long as you don't pull anything, I see no reason we can't coexist for now.
*Gamma shrugs and lays back, cradling his head in his arms and looking at the sky* That's one way to put it. Still, you know the keywords so if any inconsistencies cause a problem I can claim innocence. So that's pretty great. *Gamma yawns and closes his eyes*
[Hazama makes a big show of looking offended, but it isn't very convincing since his cocky-ass smirk has yet to fade.] Wow, I cannot believe this direct attack on my character. Whatever, sure we can coexist. I won't pull anything, I swear on my honor, 'kay?
Does a man such as yourself truly know honor? I can't wait to find out. (The man grins before turning his attention to Saeko.) Ah, hello Miss! I meant to say hello earlier, again, my name is Jace. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
"Mister Jace is it?" She nodded her head, while crossing her arms. "Nice to meet you as well, the name is Saeko Murakami."
[Hazama ignores the last part of that statement, and turns to Saeko as well.] It's nice to make your acquaintance, Miss Murakami. Must say, you remind me of the people back home. You look...hardened I suppose is the right word. I do hope we get along.
(Jace stretches as he turns to leave, putting his hood back on first.) Well then, Hazama and Saeko, I'll see you around I'm sure. (With a wave of his hand, the man begins to walk back into the city.)
"Hmm... Hardened? Well, it is a fair enough assumption to make, looking like this..." She says with a smirk, one of her hands briefly moving to touch her eyepatch. "I hope for the same Mister... Hazama, was it?"
That's the name, don't wear it out. [Hazama stands up, placing his hat back on his head.] Well, this was relaxing but I actually have some work to get back to, so if you'll excuse me. [Using a knife he previously had hidden, he slashes a hole in reality itself, and waves to Saeko as he steps through it.] Adieu, Miss Murakami. [The rift closes behind him, leaving no trace the man was ever there at all.]
Saeko nods as he gets ready to leave, but gasps in shock as the fabric of reality is torn and he vanishes with the portal. She walks towards where he was, looking around in a circle, quite perplexed. She finally just brings a hand to her forehead and finally continues her departure from Yongen-Jaya. "Every single day......"
