On the streets of Tokyo...
*A recording plays through the public announcement loudspeakers all over Tokyo, much to police surprise. For where a large building screen can be seen, it is a picture of a masked individual with a feminine voice* Hello, citizens of Tokyo. I am the Black Samurai. For too long have those in power indulged themselves at the expense of the commoner. Those who possess strength have not been allowed to prosper, while the rule of law dictates that those with money, who keep the strong on a least, guide you towards a life of subservience and unhappiness. To display my own strength, I have interfered with this public service broadcast, and I also inform you that the stocks have plummeted dramatically. I hope you corporate fat cats have not planned to buy a new kotatsu this winter. I encourage you, citizens of Tokyo, to realize your own strength, independent of the powers that be, of public opinion. Mankind is an animal, an animal of desires, capable of extraordinary things. For how long will you remain willingly in chains? Rebel. Be like no one. Destroy that which holds you down and that which is in your way. I have circulated many revolutionary books throughout the city. I encourage you to read them. Perhaps you can meet me as well... When the time is right. Embrace freedom. Embrace your animal. This revolution belongs to the strong. *The broadcast cuts out, leaving the baffled citizens whispering*
*Drops a meteor on the broadcast* Person with strength, here. I say i'm in charge.
Rebellion... *A demon cat stares up at the speakers. A red gun-like device is on his belt, on the other side of his sword. He nods to himself.* Get strength to rebel... This person has a point. Especially with, well... *He glares at Laharl.*
Kazuya having been walking around hears the announcement as it plays out. His interest is piqued by the words of the woman as the mention of a world where the strong are free to do as they see fit seems to resonate with him in some way. He looks up to the speaker with a gleam in his eyes as he remembers the cruel actions of both the government and Angels within his own world. His head begins throbbing slightly as he continues walking down the street with his hand on his head. "The strength of mankind? Can such a power really defy the heavens?"
*Gamma is walking through the city's streets, focusing mostly on a small device in his hands. He hears the broadcast and looks up at one of the TVs* If nothing else, this could be interesting. *shrug* After all, she's not entirely wrong. *Gamma looks around at the worried crowd and sighs* I wonder how many of these people know what they're in for? Or even the book they mentioned? So many poor people about to get their li- *Gamma watches as Laharl destroys a random building, which probably had people inside* -ves ruined. Like that. *sigh* This is why power shouldn't be in the hands of children.
Hmm. This person could be of use to me. I wonder where I can find one of these books. May be a fascinating read.
*The metarex general dark oak approaches wielding his sword awnsering the broadcast*
Who knows? Human will is really freaking strong. A demon like me can't keep up without help... *The Cait Sith laughs a little, although it's more like a growl than a laugh.*
I don't know how to decide this as a foolish challenge or a Worthy one....*Dark oak Stands there glaring down at all beneath him*
*Gamma briefly overhears Raal and shrugs* My thoughts exactly. I'd like to know what exactly she's saying as opposed to hoping for the best. Its the rational way to handle things.
She leaned against a tree, hearing the announcement from a good distance away. Though not seeing the screen, she heard every word, and sighed, shaking her head. "Rebellion? What a fool... An announcement such as this can only lead to havoc."
Kazuya looks over to the Cait with a suprised expression. He didn't expect to see a demon in broad daylight walking around, especially one with what appeared to be a gun. He approached it cautiously with his hand in his pocket holding onto a square device though he retained his same passive gaze through this as to not tip the demon off to anything being amiss. "Uh, you're a demon, right? You're here to hurt anyone, are you?"
*Diego suddenly appears next to the group* "What's going on here?"
*The quick moment the curved green blade wielded by the metarex leader wearing a tattered cape looks in disappointment now aware of this not being a test of might* So who would dare send a signal to the metarex Armada....
*Cait shakes his head, although his eyes only give off a hint of warmth.* Yep. Cait Sith, the local Persona-using demon. And I ain't hurting anyone without reason, nya. *He takes out the "gun," which to the experienced eye isn't a gun at all, and looks at it before putting it back on his belt.*
"I don't have time for this." *He leaves*
I wonder what it would take for this person to show themselves in person.
I do not have Paitence for this...."Game".
*Laharl flies down to the group* Oi, it is I, your overlord! F1te me, m8s!
Shut up, kid. *Cait rolls his eyes at Laharl.* Who died and made you leader, anyway?
This only proves a nuisance.
*Laharl hoists a corpse wearing a crown over his shoulder.* This guy.
...Who is that, again? Whatever. You're just some demon overlord. Some protagonist will overthrow you eventually.
Kazuya nods at Cait Sith. Demons didn't often lie about their intentions. They were beings driven by reason above all else afterall. He caught a glimpse of the annoying demon who called himself overlord as his eyes filled with anger. Though despite his contempt for the supposed overlord he decided to remain passive as he still was thinking upon the words of the strange women. A red tint covered his eyes as he smiled slightly. "Power...something like strength should be used for the sake of humanity. Humans don't need demons or gods to rule over them. They need humans to help govern society...they need someone with real strength."
But, I AM THE PROTAGONIST! ...And, it's not like i'll stop anyone from challenging me. But, until someone does, i'm the undesputed strongest!
Fair point. We'll have to put that to the test sometime. *Cait grins, then starts walking down the sidewalk.* I'll be seeing ya around. But now to find those books, nya... *He vanishes into the crowd.*
*Already, in a bookstand nearby, there was an odd book in stock. The owners themselves seem confused as to how the book got there. It is made of a worn paperback, a bright red, and it simply reads "Literature" as the title with no authors name or footnote. It seemed to be stories of tragedys, revolutions, a documentary of the first French Revolution as well as the American Revolution, a story of demons and angels where the angels are antagonists, as well as several charismatic articles on strength, willpower and magick. Did the Black Samurai write this? The overall feel of the book itself is strange... Like it radiates a power similar to that of a Persona. Reading the book too long seems to bring the primal desires of the reader out, as well as fill them with sudden self acknowledgement. Much like a shadow...*
*The demon cat picks up a book, flipping through the pages. The human revolutions are things he doesn't know, but the struggle between demons and angels was one he knew very well.* This person's a good writer, nya... Black Cat's going wild at this stuff...
*Gamma inspects one of the books closely for a moment* I'm not against rebelling against authority, if you can do so, but there's a strange amoung of..... Angel Hate. In here. *After breifly skimming the book, he sighs* I don't know what exactly their game is, other than causing a panic. But matters like these should be in the hands of the few, not handed out on a street corner.
*On Central Street, Shibuya, a girl with long brown hair held a copy of the book. After seeing the announcement, she was curious... She stood against the wall of the Yomenaido Bookstore, reading the pages with a strange expression* This is weird... What exactly is this...?
*Raal flips through a book.* Interesting. I think I need to analyse this further.
*Laharl's antannae stand straight up as soon as he hears Gamma speak* Angel... hate? I wonder how Flonne-chan will... *Laharl then quickly dismisses these thoughts as he realized he said them out loud.* GAH! It's nothing!
Kazuya decides to examine one of the books. Something about him seems to change as he flips through the pages. The story of angels and demons fighting especially seems to awaken something inside if him as his eyes gleam red. A strange commanding aura seems to surround him as he smiles. "Desires...power...yes, this is what we human beings are driven by. I think I understand what that woman was speaking of...it's all too familiar to me now..." Kazuya seems to remain motionless as he holds onto the book. He laughs a bit to himself before looking up. "The angels are evil. They'll kill just for the sake of it. God wouldn't hesitate to kill those he sees as sinners and anyone who opposes his authority is a sinner in his eyes. No matter what we do he'll continue punishing humanity for holding different values then he...the cycle must be broken and this power is what we need to do that."
*She rubs her forehead after reading for some time... The book nearly sucked her in* Mn... Strength, huh...? If I had that... No one at school, or anyone would ever... *Senri shook her head, a different, almost scary expression in her eyes. She snaps back however, upon hearing Kazuya nearby* Hm...? Are you okay?
Gin
*Gin arrives.* So. This book holds truth about- blah blah blah. *Gin flips through a book* God and angels sucks, eh? Nothing new there.
Kazuya's eyes snap back to blue as he looks up with a suprised expression. Unsure of what overcame him exactly he drops the book. He feels as if some primal urge awoke inside him for a moment however he has no time to consider ir as he drops to his knees and holds onto his head as it courses with pain. "Why...is this happening?!?" As he opens his eyes they're split between red and blue as if two forces within him are clashing.
