Some confidants can let you do some real dumb stuff the character dislikes to reverse their confidant a bit. Akechi's totally not one of 'em. You don't get to do anything with Akechi, they just auto-progress like Teddy or Mona or whoever

Do you just want to reverse his rank because you hate him? I don't really see any benefit in doing that... especially because he automatically ranks up

You can't derank someone, some confidants progress regardless of what you do. This includes Fool, Magician, Judgement, Justice and The World. Also rude.

At least this means Akechi will always be your friend :) Seriously though the whole forced confidant thing is kinda lame, but I guess the devs just didn't have time to make a legit one, so instead you can bond over pancakes or whatevs

(Shrug) I think it's more so game balance, juggling all your confidants in the span of a year seems impossible.

It kinda is, but you're not really expected to anyways. The game's made to be beatable if you don't max out any of 'em. Though that's more of a challenge run, its really designed for you to get like, 5-ish over the course of the game. THat's why maxing 'em all is an achievement

I thought this thread would be about the lv 10 Ryuji confidant lol. juggling all your confidants in the span of a year seems impossible. *Cough* My last playthrough was not easy, but I managed this. It was the run I almost got the Platinum trophy, buy it turns out there was a time based mementos quest that relates to Mishimi's confidant rank that I didn't know about. I got locked out if the final book to read. :/

Oooh yeah, that's definitely possible, I meant if every single confidant leveled up by interacting with them. Still, that's a pretty good achievement! I gave up on my platinum.

Understandable. It's a give and take system. I ran into issues because I went back and wanted to farm previous areas for Personas I was missing, or wanted to do a cheap grind, but it made things harder to do that, since I tend to be over leveled, and everything runs, forcing an ambush.
