There are multiple ways of doing it. I've experienced three. My first one I used a special device to force it out during a period of time called The Dark Hour. Another way is to enter the Metaverse and awaken to your inner rebel. And the last is what I like to call a Picaro awakening... Unfortunately I don't know how that one works.

Sorry about that. The world I come from is oft overrun by these horrible monsters and we don't typically have a means to fight them. Save for when someone uses an artifact. But this most often leads to the wielder's demise. And seeing this power have the capacity to trump my own work, it truly does seem like something worth researching.
