The problem with Kaz is we don't know how Ira intends to kill him. Is possession inherently toxic? Does he have Kaz's shadow hostage and is going to kill it? If we knew the danger Kaz is in, we could come up with a plan to save him.

Ok, here is my no-thinked plan.
Its not perfect, so I dont intend you to acept it at first:
Ira wants us to change Kaz's heart.
If he thinks he won, maybe he leaves Kaz.
Tricking him should be the first part.
When he see the trick, he will try to possess us. We need to make him enter something that wont hurt us. Probably a crystal statue.
Then we can do whatever we need to do with Ira.
How does it sound? As you see, its not completed...

I dont know what palace you attacked, but if we can enter Ira's, we can try to make him think we stealed Kaz's treasure.
He then leaves Kaz, and we use the lizard to make a statue of Kaz.
If he sees we teicked him, he will try to possess him again. If he possess the statue, he couldn't do nothing, being traped.
