What kind of music are all of you into? Aside from Shoji Meguro of course :P
I personally love J-Rock like Malice Mizer and L'Arc~en~Ciel and J-Power Metal such as Galneryus, Versailles/Kamijo, Light Bringer and MinstreliX.

Also I'm a huge fan of Classical/Romantic/Baroque music like Beethoven, Bach, Paganini, Mozart etc
Most Orchestral pieces, anything Rock, stuff like Shelter - Porter Robinson is really good.

and uh...I was raised with country music...so...i like that stuff too
My favorite music is mostly from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. Particularly Hope, Far, Dread of the Grave and Dir. Since you like classical you should also try Fortitude and Novelette. I love them all almost as much as I love Shiho and volleyball.
I like Heavy Metal/Rock and that kind of music but I like Orchestral music too
You all have excellent taste, anyone who loves Rock, Orchestral or both are pretty awesome in my book! Also for those of you who enjoy both, I can't recommend the Italian band Rhapsody enough because they mix Heavy Metal and Orchestral together, specially Neo-Classical Metal. They're my favorite band.

Check this song out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqGaXimyNO8
Everything, really.
From heavy metal to j-pop, rap, classical music etc. If something is good it doesn't matter what genre it is imo.

If I had to choose what I'm listening to most that would be metal/rock.

@PhantomRider I read that you play guitar, but what kind? Acoustic, bass, classical or electric?

I've been playing electric for two years now, but it's my side hobby so I'm not as good as I should considering the time.
That sounds like the music that plays when fighting an end game Tales boss.

I'm not especially keen on metal. I used to be so into lolita/v kei in my teen years (I still like lolita) so I had the Gothic music taste, but it changed from contemporaey Gothic to classical Gothic, I guess. It's still real cool to know how metal's roots are in classical. I wonder how many metal artists appreciate that.

I forgot to mention but I also like bossa nova.
Evrything that sounds good to me
@Mishima, I mostly play electric because it's all I actually own, but I can play acoustic as well. What's your play style like? I mainly play Power Metal stuff akin to bands like HammerFall and Grave Digger, but with a bit of a Neo-Classical twist.

Here's a pic of the kind of guitar I have: Click to load jpeg image (size - 354 kb)
@Suguru Kamoshida, yeah that's a pretty good description for it haha, that's my favorite type of music, it's just super epic and empowering. Also it's cool you liked V-Kei back in the day. You must have been a pretty big X Japan fan, yeah? How's about Kamijo's old band Lareine? I'm a pretty big fan of V-Kei if you can't tell haha
@PhantomRider Thanks for show me Rhapsody, they sound great :__D
@Adachi_Dickhead, Always glad to share new musical experiences with people, I'm glad you enjoyed them so much! ^_^
PhantomRider: I was more into lolita than v kei even as a teenager, so I was mostly into Malice Mizer. More than them, I was into Yousei Teikoku and Asriel before they became known as anime OP artists.

There was another v kei band I liked but I couldn't remember their name to save my life. I haven't listened to any in like five years.
@PhantomRider
My guitar
Click to load jpeg image (size - 42 kb)

Photo not mine, and my model is 6 string not 7, but other than that they're the same.

I don't have specified style, I like to cover anything that just has any guitar riffs in it may it be metal, some game ost or blues.
@Suguru Kamoshida, ah gotcha, I love Malice Mizer and just about anything to do with Gackt, love all their baroque/gothic influence, harpsichord always gets me. I love Yousei Teikoku and Asriel as well, kinda glad they're actually getting the recognition they deserve now since they started doing anime OPs haha
Whatever sounds good tbh, but I tend to mostly lean towards kpop and jpop.

As a personal instrument, I learned the violin early on during my childhood. Always wanted to try the piano personally though.
@Mishima, that guitar looks pretty awesome. I also enjoy covering game OST stuff too, also just improvising over OST is a lot of fun, been playing along to the P5 OST a lot lately actually, Will Power and the instrumental version of Life Will Change specifically.
Harpsichord is great!
And yeah, it's nice that they're gaining recognition. Of course, more exposure increases their liability to gradually becoming less niche and more pop. It would be wise of them to do that, though, if success is paramount

Should also try Golden Sneer if you decide to give Umineko music a try. I forgot to mention it as a favorite.
@QueenTakamaki, I actually enjoy J-Pop a lot as well, an idol group I recently got into that are really fun is Rev. from DVL, would recommend checking them out if you don't know of them! Also violin is a really awesome instrument, Paganini's 24 caprices for violin always inspire me, so amazing. Piano is probably the most beautiful instrument ever and I really wish I could play it as well, if I had more time I'd love to learn.

@Suguru Kamoshida, Seriously it is! Also speaking of amazing harpsichord I'm a pretty huge Castlevania fan and Michiru Yamane's harpsichord tracks are truly just incredible. Thanks again for the recs, I'll be sure to check into them sometime later this week!
I should probably mention that my favorite in classical is the romantic era and specifically Chopin. I love his waltzes and polonaises more than most other classical pieces. Rachmaninoff's rhapsody on a theme of Paganini is also great. I also kinda like Ravel's Tzigane.
It's really hard to choose what I love more because the baroque era has a major influence on me and my music, Bach and Vivaldi especially, but I love romantic and classical a LOT as well. Chopin is really great, I agree his waltzes are some of the best out there, I already mentioned how amazing I think Paganini is, but you also can't go wrong with Tchaikovsky
I think it's romantic>baroque>classical for me. I do like classical too, of course, but I have strong favor for the others.

Besides that there's not much else for me to say on the matter. I think 80% of my classical music time is on Chopin so I'm probably deprived of a lot. He's very easy to like, like a beginners favorite type. Not that it would change that he is my second favorite composer throughout all music.
It has been really awesome learning more about some of your musical tastes and passions, I am very passionate about music, the only thing can rival my passion in music is my passion for J-RPGs haha. Anyways, I'm about to head to sleep for the night, but if anyone replies to this thread while I'm gone, I'll make sure to respond when I wake up. Night! :)
@ Mishima @PhantomRider Do u Guys have a Youtube acc or something? i really like to listen to ur Covers
@PhantomRider I'll be sure to check them out! I recently got into jpop recently exploring a bit outside of kpop groups e.g BIGBANG and TWICE, so I'm always looking for some good recommendations. You also chose quite a wonderful challenging piece, Caprice 24 really emanates emotion throughout its entirety. I personally enjoy Chopins Nocturne
Op. 9 No. 2
@-Iwari- Here's my really old and mediocore Bon Jovi cover:
https://soundcloud.com/roller-994919328/bon-jovi-wanted-dead-or-alive-solo-cover

It was uploaded nearly a year ago, so don't judge me ;_;

I have more covers on my PC, maybe I'll upload them somewhere someday.
I like more... vgm, some rap, and thats it
God Eaters Soundtrack, RWBYs Soundtrack, Kingdom Hearts Music,
Sonic Music,Final Fantasy Music
Rock musik, like Billy Talent, Bring me the Horizon, Seether, Shinedown etc. , Simon Curtis , oh and also more Video Game music.
Bit of classical, bit of rock, bit of folk :P very eclectic musical tastes :P
Anime and game music aside, I was raised with a healthy appreciation of classic rock, mostly Queen, Yes, Journey, and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. I also love old big band swing tunes from folks like Bing Crosby and The Ink Spots.
Oh right I should be somewhat specific on what vgm I like... I love a LOT of pokemon osts.. since I'm playing twewy atm.. I like that.. uhh I can't think of much more..
Weeb music only. I only listen to stuff from games an anime at this point.
Well, also Kamen Rider.
I've been making a Weeb Music playlist on my YT so maybe one day I can just post my shame here to everyone, that will be fun right?
I listen to pretty much anything, but especially hardcore, rem and rock
@Mishima i think it sounds great
I like everything from j-pop, to metal, pop, alternative, indie, britpop, grunge, gothic classical, synthpop, even post-grunge garbage (noshame). This is the abridged version, as I'm a musical mark.

If I had to give my favorite artists, they would be: Aimer, Nightwish, Kalafina, Do As Infinity and The Stone Roses.
I'm into a lot of 80's and 90's rock and jazz. I also love myself a good OST, particularly BlazBlue and Etrian Odyssey
Hm,besides certain game soundtracks I listen to almost anything really. I hate country music though, which sucks because my dad loves the stuff so gotta deal with it sometimes. Haven't listen to stuff like K-Pop in a long time though since my favorite group kinda split.

Regularly though I'll listen to some Daft Punk,Empire of the Sun,Ugly God,Bruno Mars,Childish Gambino,80s/90s,and some mashups here and there
I listen to alot of different things. Mainly KPOP, JPOP, Classicals, Retro, Oldies, 90's....I tend to avoid new music of this generation America wise. Im also an anime and game ost junkie
Did not expect to get this many replies to this thread while I slept haha. Looks like a lot of people here love video game OST, which definitely makes sense. I myself am also a huge OST fan, Michiru Yamane, Nobuo Uematsu, Motoi Sakuraba, Daisuke Ishiwatari and Yuka Tsujiyoko are some of my favorite VGM composers.

@Hibiki, I love Super Sentai and Kamen Rider themes, they're so well written and catchy, not to mention always have great guitar playing in them as well. If you love weeb music, I'd recommend checking out some of the bands I mentioned in my first comment because the way the melodies are written is very anime-ish. I play that stuff at my work all the time and customers are always like "What anime is this from?" Haha

@AdachiImouto, diversity is the spice of life and you certainly have it haha. Nightwish and Kalafina are both two of my favorites as well!

@pankeki I know what you mean, 90% of what I listen to nowadays is either Japanese or European and the American music I do listen to are the classics from the 70s-80s
Jpop, whatever the hell Nier: Automata qualifies for, and Symphonic Opera.

A good example is Kamelot.

However, I do have a persona fondness for viking metal.
@PhantomRider I saw you love Larc and i was like your legit cuz i madly love hyde too bad his voice is all :/ due to smoking. I also love monkey majik! Sometimes i listen to alot of instrumentals as when writing about diseases...i cant focused with words.
@-Iwari-, I do have a YouTube channel actually, here's a cover from it.

https://youtu.be/x3OApd_mLKk

@Joker, I am well aware of who Kamelot are, fantastic band, my favorite albums of theirs are The Fourth Legacy and Karma. If you enjoy them I'd highly recommend checking out Versailles because they're super symphonic and operatic as well, plus Kamijo has a deep baritone styled voice like Roy Khan. Here's one of my favorite tracks from them https://youtu.be/gUmEHh1CpHU

@pankeki, I know what you mean, it's pretty sad because some of the best singers end up ruining their voices through smoking :/ I also love instrumentals, especially of the guitar shred kind, like Yngwie Malmsteen or Steve Vai.
@PhantomRider - That's a fantastic band. I'll have to look into them more.
@Joker, glad you enjoyed them! Like I've said before, few things fill me with as much joy as helping people find new music they love, so I'm happy to give recommendations anytime.
Eurobeat is my Jam
@PhantomRider ok...dont move to fast now...but there is a Yoshi watching u...
Actually 2...
@Genocity, Eurobeat is soooo much fun. Dave Rodgers, Powerful T and J.Storm are my favorite artists. Also obviously Max Coveri is great, Running in the 90s will always be a classic.
I only listen to anime music, fight me if you disagree with the ways of the weeb.
@-Iwai-, those are my buddies. Yoshi has been one of my favorite characters since I was a kid and I won that plush out of a crane a long time ago, while the figure I got from a thrift store
POST EUROBEATS
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlnFJrCK9vc
@Mako-chan, that's perfectly ok as long as you understand Ai wo Torimodose is the greatest OP to ever exist ;) https://youtu.be/RxkezvGwI20
@pixie, don't mind if I do! https://youtu.be/sV5f51Bd0to
@PhantomRider Holy crap I havent watched Fist of the North Star is FOREVER. I completely forgot how godly that OP is.
@PhantomRider Mind that i leave u a Sub?
@Mako-chan, Fist of the North Star is my favorite anime and I listen to that OP almost on a daily basis, so I'll never forget haha

@-Iwai-, of conurse not, please do!
Most of you have probably seen this already but I'm gonna post it anyway.

Amazing cover.
All my music is game music, I barely like anything that would actually come on the radio

Except queen and red hot chili peppers, among a few others.
@Mishima, Jules is amazing, I've been following him since middle school, he rarely disappoints with his arrangements. I wish I had 10% of his talent (Or recording skills lmaooo) and that cover is beyond amazing.

Here's another killer Persona cover I recently found, it's a Jazz cover of Last Surprise and it's sooooo good https://youtu.be/RdfPMadOyw0
Post-punk and early gothic rock like Bauhaus.
Also

@HueyNewis, Can never go wrong with David Bowie
I like just about everything. I've recently gotten into collecting vinyl records So far, I have a rather eclectic mix. I have soundtracks to movies like Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as older albums like Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and the Steve Miller Band's Greatest Hits.
bump
Heavily into anything by Yuyoyuppe or Utsu-p because I'm a lowly weeb
The only vocaloid producers I've ever really been into are wowaka, Dixie Flatline, and moff-P
I have tastes for everything save for dubstep and country, but my preferred favorites are usually Rock bands (that can also include J-Rock too) and others
I love video game music. That being said, I listen to classic rock, jazz and anything with a good drum beat.

It usually where I can get most of my drum licks from
I've recently been listening to a bunch of Yuko Suzuhana she is great. I've also been listening to Lotus Juice's independent stuff like Carpe Diem they're all great too.
I love various forms of metal, with progressive metal being my favorite. I love progressive rock as well, along with a whole host of other genres including jazz, fusion, hip-hop, pop, and tons of Japanese music. Some of my favorite bands are Dream Theater, Perfume, Scandal, Cynic and Angra. I also play drums so I love finding nice groovy/percussive driven bands.
Music is my life, so I try to find the good in every genre... But I've got an unfair bias against country and I'm not particularly fond of dubstep.

My favorite genres are probably jazz, orchestral, rock and... VGM if that can be considered a genre. Video game music takes up so much space on my hard drive.
@glacier, Dream Theater and Angra <3 are you familiar with Symphony X? They're my personal favorite Prog Metal band. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgcLPIP3lOs
@PhantomRider Yes! I love Symphony X. First time I saw them they closed with The Odyssey, second time I saw them they opened up for Iced Earth.
I listen to a lot of stuff, im constantly listening to something different, though I've been (somewhat) listening to Lord Huron lately, would recomend
Aqualung is good, weird as all hell, but good. Imagine if Yes was weird. It would be that.
@glacier, that's so awesome, I'd kill to see The Odyssey live, that song is on a whole other level of amazing.
@PhantomRider it was incredible. my legs were killing me after that show though, so long.
bump
thanks mishima-dono (you like that? it represents your "lordship" over the site)

when it comes to particulars I love all kinds of music save for dubstep and country, some hip-hop is okay (but don't ever mention that lame @$$ sellout justin beiber around me) I can see the technique and innovation in most forms of music though, my go-to favorites range from Rush, to dream theator, to dragonforce, to Takeharu ishimoto, to the Black stones, to many others...
Hmm.. I'd say I'm very mixed.. Classic, orchestral, j-pop, all kinds of soundtracks for games and anime.. Rock, rap, metal.. Uhm.. Yeah xD only thing I'm not too fond of is stuff like, death metal and the whole growling, screaming etc.
bump because why not
Nickelback.
Oh boy. Aight.

So, I'm a huge rock person. For me, I tend to indulge myself in Linkin Park's first 4 albums (Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteora, and Minutes to Midnight), Gorillaz, System of a Down, Audioslave, Incubus, etc.
i'm in love with hanatan's voice!! i wish i had a voice like her's!!
