Favorite Genre?
There has been plenty of game wars in the past, and people constantly complaining about one thing, some stuff going stale, other things needing to evolve (a discussion for another day, mind you), so I bring about a very simple topic:

What is everyone's favorite game genre?
It doesn't even have to be the original foundation either. Metroidvania was borne from meshing genres, as was the Role Play shtick that evolved into a pile of wtf.

Personally, I prefer Turn Based RPG the most.
I like turn-based strategy games. Its a lot of numbers to focus on. Most of these are RPGs by now, but the story isn't as important to me at this point so I'll leave the RPG part be
Grid based rpgs like fire emblem and Devil Survivor
Action RPGs. Stuff that is both heavy on numbers, and very reliant on user skill/technique in different situations.
RPGs with visual novel elements are my ideal cup of tea.
What genre is rock-paper-scissors under?
RPG, Fighting, Platformer, and rogue-like.
I've never been good at games that require skill, so I usually stick to the more creative, easygoing game. The kinds that rely more on story telling.
JRPGs and SRPGs.
I do enjoy a good FPS/TPS every once in a while.
I love RPGs in general,
but also game where you can create your own stuff, like Spore or Sims.

Then there is fighting games, I am pretty good at them.

Stradegy counts as well because of fire emblem,
and Jump and run because of Sonic.

But well RPG will still be my fav.
Everyone here seems to like RPGs, I myself am fond of SRPGS like Fire Emblem and of course Devil Survivor above all else. I do quite like fighting games, which I'm sure is obvious. FPS' are also quite enjoyable, but not all of them.
I'm really bad at shooters, but boy oh boy, does DOOM ever feel good to play.
I, for one, adore beat-em-ups, or anything with satisfying, varied action combat.
Souls likes, and most ARPGs like Kingdom Hearts.
As you probably have guessed, I like strategic games: stealth, puzzles, Turn based combat, I like FPS too, but only if they have something else
FPS and RPGs. +points if it's an FPS with RPG elements.

Actually any game without absurd dlc and microtransactions are nice.
I think I am one of the only ones who don't like FPS games.
Sorry but i don't like shooting that much,
in rpgs I also only use close combat.
I don't have favorite, I like all games.

Except gore.
Really good RPG (not action games calling themselves RPGs) that have huge worlds and a metric ton of quests to do and many many different playstyles to have fun with and preferably with mod support.

Basically, Skyrim is my favorite genre.
JRPGs. Survival/Horror is ok too.
I'm an absolute fan of Survival Horror and Strategy RPG myself.

Such good times :3
